Case Study - Elevate Women's Health
When Andrew Kahn joined Elevate Women’s Health as Director of Business Development, his Vice President told them that one of the best outreach strategies they’d developed involved writing handwritten envelopes. This had been more effective than printed labels or other methods, but it didn’t scale. And they needed it to scale.
A new job is a tricky thing to balance. On the one hand, you need to respect what the team has done up to that point. At the same time, you’re expected to add fuel to the fire and help the organization grow.
Andrew was familiar with IgnitePOST from prior endeavors, so when he joined the team, he knew that the IgnitePOST platform was perfect for their efforts. He showed the technology to his VP and it went well.
“My VP was floored at what they could do.”
We’ve all been to a doctor’s office, and we all know that a lot of the structure is put in place to give the doctor the time to see patients. This doesn’t only extend to unplanned patient visits, but also, to marketing materials. We all know what bulk mail looks like, and even the printed “handwritten” envelopes are easy to spot. But a true pen and ink note?
“Cuts through the noise,” says Andrew. When the doctor’s staff sorts the mail, that real ink on the envelope comes across differently. "Oh, this is actually for the doctor.” So they pass it on. It gets opened, and read.
One of his early trials with the new company involved an IgnitePOST holiday card with a QR code. They sent out 30 of them, the code directing to a unique landing page, unlisted on their navigation menu and not used in any other campaigns.
The results: over 200 hits to that page. The results pleased others on the team and Elevate Women’s Health is continuing to expand usage of IgnitePOST.
The team wanted to handwrite all of their communications. They saw the value and understood the results. But it didn’t scale. They found when they were worried about penmanship, grammar, spelling names correctly, and other concerns… each note was taking 10-15 minutes. That wasn’t a good way for a marketing professional to spend their day.
Now, they’re down to under a minute: copy the address from the CRM (they use Salesforce), paste it into IgnitePOST, choose the template you want to use, and you’re finished.
Feedback from recipients has been just as good. It’s not uncommon for the team to thank a doctor after an initial meeting. And despite how busy they are, these same doctors are responding; "Hey, got your note. So unnecessary. Thank you,” reports Andrew.
His advice to organizations not using IgnitePOST?
"Why are you afraid of standing out and being successful? [Sending IgnitePOST notes is] doing something that's uniquely different. You don't even have to write better copy. You'll stand out"
