How to use Klaviyo to Send Handwritten Notes

One of the most powerful features of the new update is the ability to target Klaviyo segments using handwritten cards instead of emails. The best part? The app is FREE to install and set up is amazingly fast … you can be up and running in less than 5 mins.

WHY SHOULD I DO THIS? THERE ARE TWO COMPELLING REASONS …

First, Klaviyo’s dynamic segmenting abilities are amazingly powerful.  By leveraging the data already contained within your Klaviyo account, you can get extremely specific about who you target with handwritten notes as well as when those handwritten cards are sent.

Second, handwritten notes have been shown to be 30X more effective than email outreach and 10X more effective than Direct Mail (we have some Case Studies and examples further down in this article). HOW DOES IT WORK?

Ok, so the big question is ‘How does it Work’? The good news is that it’s amazingly simple to set up.

To send handwritten cards to Klaviyo segments in real-time:

1. Install the IgnitePOST Shopify App (it’s FREE) and click ‘Setup Post Purchase Flow’

2. Type out the card details,  personalize the message and add any card image you want!

3. Configure the settings you want to use to determine when a card should be sent. To use a Klaviyo segment, just click the checkbox that says ‘Only send a card if the customer belongs to the specified Klaviyo segment ID’

Finding your Klayvio segment ID is simple. Visit your Klaviyo Dashboard, click on ‘Lists and Segments’ in the left-hand menu, and then click the segment you want to target with handwritten notes.

In the top row, you’ll see a link that says ‘Settings’. Click this link and then copy/paste the Segment ID into the segment ID text box in the IgnitePOST app.

To find your API key, just click on your name in the upper right corner of the Klaviyo dashboard and click ‘Account’. From this screen, you can click ‘Settings’-> ‘API Keys’.

If you have an existing API key, you can copy/paste this key.  Otherwise, click the ‘Create Private API Key’ button, name your key, and then copy/paste the key into the IgnitePOST dashboard text box that says ‘Klaviyo API Key’.
